The following guidelines are given as a form of standardization for TLC. We realize that families and churches have their own convictions regarding dress. The Bible is clear about the need for modesty and not causing others to lust.
General Guidelines
Modesty. Christian men and women are asked to dress in a manner that personifies the principle that we are temples of God. Our dress should show sensitivity to the spiritual well being of those who see us; it should also reflect a desire to glorify God in a manner that is not vain, boastful, bold, or forward. Identification with the Lord and not the world.
Girls Dress
General: The following types of clothing is not to be worn: midriff shirts, spaghetti strap tank tops, halter tops or tank tubes, shorts shorter than finger tips in length or sheer garments. Logos or printing on t-shirts must not be offensive.
Swimming: Swimsuits are to be one piece or a tankini as long as the stomach area is covered and adequately covers the feminine parts of the body. Swimsuits are to be worn only in the designated swim areas or in route.
Chapel: There is no special dress code for chapel, other than the camper must be “neat and clean.” This applies to the body and hair as well as the clothes.
Boys’ Dress
General: The following types of clothing are not to be worn: midriff shirts, tank tops that are tight or sheer garments. Hats are not to be worn in the dining hall. Logos or printing on t-shirts must not be offensive.
Swimming: Swimsuits are to be boxer type shorts. Swimsuits are to be worn only in the designated swim areas or in route.
Chapel: there is no special dress code for chapel, other than the camper must be “neat and clean.” This applies to the body and hair as well as the clothes.
